"the best bit of land in Staffordshire"
On the farm we grow wheat, barley, oilseed rape, beans, lupins and grass (which becomes haylage supplied to local stables).
Tim, our Farm Manager, is passionate about working with nature to care for our environment. Tim is a pioneer of no till, biological farming and use of cover crops to promote healthy soils, enabling good yields with lower chemical inputs. He has been recognised with several awards including:
- 2017: Farm Carbon Cutting Toolkit: soil farmer of the year
- 2019: British Farming Awards: arable innovator of the year
- 2020: Farmers Weekly: farm innovator of the year
We enjoy living and working alongside the wildlife on our farm. We are fortunate to have different natural habitats and we make every effort to encourage and sustain a wide range of native species e.g. planting seeds in field margins to encourage birdlife and insects, and maintaining our lovely hedgerows and trees.
