Our local villages of Brewood (pronounced "Brood") & Coven (pronounced "Coe-ven"). Both have shops, eateries, canals and places to be pampered! Brewood has a rich history, and exploring the village is a must visit.  


  • Essington Farm has a great farm shop with an abundance of local and speciality foods, plus a nice tearoom and seasonal "Pick Your Own".

  • Weston Park has glorious grounds designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Its attractions include an art gallery, special events and places to eat and relax.
  • Shugborough Estate has a rich blend of landscape, monuments, gardens and architecture, shaped by travel and adventure. It has beautiful walks and refreshment stops. It is situated on the edge of Cannock Chase which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cannock Chase is an idyllic setting laden with cycle tracks and a variety of beautiful walks. This former Royal forest, is known for its rolling hills, purple heather and miles of quiet woodland routes to explore. It is also home to Go Ape with its thrilling treetop challenge and forest Segway .

The City of Wolverhampton offers cultural experiences at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery and Civic Hall entertainment venue (currently undergoing refurbishment) and the Grand Theatre . 

Wolverhampton is home to the Premiership football club Wolverhampton Wanders (‘the Wolves’). The Wolves play at Molineux Stadium – and have a great museum and restaurant

Just a short stroll from Molineux is West Park considered to be one of the best, unspoilt examples of a Victorian park left in England. 

Within 5 miles to the North of us you can explore the pretty village of Penkridge stopping off at Gailey Pottery and the Animal Zone  at Rodbaston College en- route. 

About 5 miles to the South West explore the shops and tea rooms in the villages of Tettenhall and Codsall .


For all things aeronautical visit one of two national RAF museums at RAF CosfordSituated next to an active airfield, this is the only place in the Midlands where you can get close to so many breathtaking aircraft for free. 

Just a mile further on David Austin Roses with its world renowned rose gardens, gift shop and tearoom (the pre-booked afternoon teas are lovely)

If you would like a great animal experience, we can recommend Wildwood Alpacas  just outside Albrighton.

Day trips

Walk across the world’s first ever iron bridge built in 1779 and meander through the shops and cafes along the picturesque River Severn. There is something for everyone to explore at Ironbridge Gorge Museums.

Head up to North Staffordshire and visit the Trentham Estate for the Monkey Forest, Tree Top Adventures, Gardens and Shopping Village.

For thrill seekers visit Alton Towers and Waterworld to the north, Drayton Manor Park and Snow Dome at Tamworth to the east.

To the West meander through the streets of the historic market towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, and the nearby Attingham Park for stunning parkland walks.

The UK's second city is on our doorstep. Birmingham is just a 30 minute train journey from Penkridge, Codsall or Wolverhampton. A great place for shopping, dining and entertainment. Also, for chocolate lovers, is Cadbury World.

Visit the cathedral city of Lichfield, take a walk or llama trek in the national forest, a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum or for motorsport head to the Curborough Sprint Course.

Staffordshire is world famous for ceramics in the north of the county you can pay a visit to over 25 visitors centres and factory shops including Wedgewood and Emma Bridgewater.

Visit the pretty market town of Bridgnorth with its quirky shops and tearooms, and the scenic Severn Valley Railway with steam trains that run to Kidderminster and back.
